Whoop whoop
Regain III: Chiaki's birth
In this one, Chii is seven years old. School has ended for the weekend and her grandfather, a very dapper and distinguished gentleman, is waiting outside for her. He is older, very greyed, but stands up straight and tall with full dignity in his dark suit despite the early summer heat. Seeing him is very exciting - grandfather has never come to pick her up before - but it's also extremely confusing for those same reasons. This is something Daddy and Mama have always done.
She asks why he's there after hugging his leg and getting her hair ruffled. His response begins, "Your father and Maria" seems ... a little out of place, but grandfather is so old-fashioned, that maybe adults just use adult names a lot and he forgot that Mama is called Mama. It ends with "have gone in to have the baby," and that's like a lightning bolt. Shock, awe, excitement all coursing through all at once.
The baby is here! I want to see! Grandfather agrees, since tomorrow is Sunday, to take her to visit once she has gone home and changed into more appropriate clothing. Which is more than fine, so they rush off - though "rush" really isn't the right word, only Chii is hurrying, but that's another matter. After they get home, she gets on with changing out of her school clothes and into a very tragic, very frilly and puffy pink party dress. It looks exactly like you would expect seven year old girl dreams to be made of. She loves it.
Once they actually get there to the clinic, there's just a lot of wide-eyed wonder as Mama in the hospital bed shows off the tiny and wrinkly baby brother. While Daddy and Grandfather talk, Mama introduces him.
"His name is Chiaki. He's your little brother, so you'll have to take care of him, alright?"
"... I'm callin' him Akkun. Hello, baby Akkun! I came to your birthday!"
... and then there's a lot of warm noises and laughter and Daddy and Mama and Grandfather all being dere for the siblings.

SO WE LEARNED THAT:
- she is a big sister!
- she has or ... had, a fambly! which means they were definitely destroyed with the world :( this is heartbreaking, she was definitely the most in love with her family anyone could be in this memory
- she has to take care of people she cares about
- plus a million team dere, because they are replacement family
Shoot me questions or comments but with my sick happening I barely was able to type out this much in six hours.
